As herdades do Monte da Ribeira e da Herdadinha pertencem à família Leal da Costa, descendente directa do Conde de Ervideira, agricultor de sucesso dos séc. XIX e XX. O Conde, que recebeu o título de D. Carlos I pelo função social que a família desempenhava na região, deu início à produção de vinho em 1880.
Com 160ha de vinhedos divididos pela Vidigueira e por Reguengos, a administração da Ervideira é assegurada por Dona Maria Isabel, a matriarca da família e pelos seus seis filhos, sendo Duarte Leal da Costa o director executivo. A direcção enológica é da responsabilidade de Paulo Laureano.
The herdade Monte da Ribeira and Herdadinha belong to the Leal da Costa family, descendats of Count of Ervideira, successful farmer in the XIX and XX century. The Count, who received is title due to his family's work in that region, began producing wine in 1880.
With 160ha of vineyards divided by Vidigueira and Reguengos, Ervideira's administration is assured by D. Maria Isabel, the family's matriarch and by her six sons, beeing Duarte Leal da Costa the executive manager. Oenology is Paulo Laureano's responsabilty.

Cor grená ainda muito fechada a mostrar juventude. O nariz tem uma intensidade média, mostrando-se bem frutado, com notas de casca de laranja caramelizada e groselhas. Na boca está bem macio, com taninos bem domados, estrutura aceitável e um final condizente com o conjunto. (80 pontos)

Granach deep color showing youth. Average intensity nose, showing good fruit with notes of orange peel and redcurrants. Is very smooth in the mouth with well tamed tannins, the structure is acceptable and the ending fits well with the rest. (80 points)
