Casa Ermelinda Freitas Syrah 2006

De volta às provas, após uma prolongada ausência. Desta vez a provar um vinho que me deixou curioso, o agora famoso, Syrah da Casa Ermelinda Freitas. Muito se falou deste vinho de 2005 após o seu espantoso primeiro lugar num concurso em França, um vinho que não é sequer o topo de gama do produtor. Estava curioso.
As garrafas existentes no mercado haviam-se evaporado, ou então o preço tinha disparado. Falei com os distribuidores, que após muita insistência me facultaram um garrafa para prova, mas de qualquer maneira pedi também o de 2006 que tanto me queriam vender. Achei mais interessante fazer aqui a prova do 2006 do que do já muito comentado 2005. Assim provamos um vinho ainda não inflacionado pelo mercado.
Back to tasting, after a long absence. this time I'll taste a wine wicht made me curious, the now famous, Casa Ermelinda Freitas's Syrah. A lot was said about this 2005 wine after it's astonishing first place in a competions in France, and it's not even the producer's premium wine. I was curious.
The bottles that should exist in the market had evaporated, or the price was now rocket high. I talked with the resellers, taht after long persuasion got me a bottle, but I also got some 2006 bottles they wanted me to get. In the blog it appeared, to me, to be more interesting to taste this 2006 than the already very talked 2005. This way it's a wine not yet very much market influenced.

Cor grenã profunda a mostrar juventude. No nariz tem boa intensidade, média alta, ainda um pouco verde. A mostrar boa madeira bem casada com frutos pretos e pitadas chocolate. Na boca tem boa estrutura, é gordo quanto baste e mostra baunilha e alguma tosta. Está bastante redondo com taninos bem amaciados. Um vinho muito consensual, bom, mas longe de ser o melhor do mundo. (85 pontos)

Deep granach color showing youth. In the nose it has good intensity, medium-high, still a bite green. The wood it's well married with black fruits and a bit of chocolate. Well structured, it's fat enough and shows vanilla and some toast. It's a very round wine with very softened tannins. Very consensual, good, but far from beeing the best in the world. (85 points)
